MAP gives youth the tools they need to depict their experiences with violence through photography and writing. It allows them to build self-esteem by highlighting their achievements and sharing them with the community. Youth also develop empathy and acceptance for their peers.

The program includes:
« Photography
« Writing
« Group discussion

Through the lens of a camera, the written word and group discussion, youth articulate the impact of violence on their lives and explore positive alternatives.

At the end of the school year, youth will have the opportunity to:
| Showcase their work in Imagine LOVE, our annual magazine
| Have their work displayed in a school exhibit

LOVE youth who have completed MAP are given the opportunity to learn additional skills that help them become active leaders against violence in their schools and communities.

The program focuses on:
« Storytelling and public speaking
« Group facilitation, animation techniques, conflict resolution
« Raising awareness around global issues related to violence through writing and video production

At the end of the program, selected youth leaders from across the country come together at a summer camp to further enhance their leadership skills. They can then return to their schools, neighbourhoods and communities to apply what they’re learned.

Youth leaders team up with a LOVE professional to animate violence prevention workshops with a public audience.
In these sessions, youth leaders share their personal stories and their experiences at LOVE with peers, professionals, and other concerned community members.

Violence prevention workshops are offered, based on demand, to CEGEPS, high schools and universities. The subjects of the workshops are adapted based on the needs of the participating institutions. They last between 45 minutes and 2 hours but can be delivered several times throughout the year.
